When in Rome… (or at the Renaissance Festival)

This weekend my family, a few of our friends and I took a near 3 hour trip out to eastern Maryland for the annual Renaissance Festival. http://www.rennfest.com/ We try to go every year. We are addicted. Its just such a fun time and its great exercise too, shhh! I mean, walking around in the woods all day, up and down hills, carrying your “trinkets”; that’s a real workout! We were there for almost 6 hours,! We were enjoying all of the different foods, watching the array of costumed people, both entertainers and “regular partakers”, and of course buying things that you can only buy in the “old England times”. And don’t forget the JOUSTING! I was rather thrilled to FINALLY convince my husband Ben that he needed a kilt! I mean, we go every year, and my family surprised me one birthday with my own medieval costume, and the kids were even dressed up this year so why shouldn’t he?! We made a merry site!

(one word of advise, don’t take pictures at the end of the day when everyone is tired!)

All in all, it was a wonderful day traveling back in time. Perfect weather and great company. But now we are home, back in real time, in little Winchester Virginia and I am sorting through the pictures. I will try to add a few more, especially the jousting! :)

Faire thee well!
