We had a great evening at this month’s Moms Night Out. This was one of the largest turn-outs so far! We didn’t go out to a restaurant or coffee shop this time. We did potluck instead. It was so much fun! So many homemade yummy treats to enjoy and we had a lot of fun reminiscing and looking at old photos of our families and ourselves “back in the day”.
It was a very enjoyable evening.

Ok, So I missed the January Mom’s Night Out so I dont have much to comment on it, and they wont TELL me what happened since I wasnt there. I DO know they went to CiCi’s Pizza Buffet and had a great time. Some of the moms left before the pciture was taken (I think we need to make a No-Leaving-Until-Picture-Is-Taken rule!) so here is a picture of the group that were caught on film!

Then MNO just went to Golden Corral buffet which was really nice. I think that worked out exceptionally well because there was definitely something for everyone! They were able to accommodate all of us and while it may have been just over $10 a person, I think it was worth it. We had a lot of fun talking about things other than school work! We had a nice turnout and will have to put Golden Corral on the list to visit again!

This one was really nice. We had a room all to ourselves at the Daily Grind on the walking mall in Winchester. IT was C-O-L-D outside but warm and cozy on the inside.
We braved the cold as we moms do when we are determined to grab the few child and hubby-less hours alone with our friends that we are allotted. Being a mom is 24/7 but being a homeschool mom is twice the work!
We ordered our coffees, hot teas and cocoas and some of us grabbed a bite to eat like yummy sandwiches, delicious cheesy potato soup or a brownie drizzled with more chocolate. (I dont have any on my face, do I?)
This evening was great because we not only got to chat over a cup of something warm, but we also got gifts! We all brought a wrapped ornament, whether store bought or home made, and we numbered them and drew numbers. So we either got to keep the one we drew, or the next person in line could steal ours if they didnt open theirs. I think we are all to excited to see what was in the festive wrappings that we forgot about stealing ones that were already opened. I am glad I kept mine. Its staying out all year. Its a cinnamon one. It was meant for me.
It has my name all over it… get it… cinnamon.. Synamon. Haha.
We enjoyed ourselves and no one got in trouble this time. Although Wendy left earlier than the rest of us because she was wounded. At least she was a trooper and came out to celebrate with us with her swollen ankle. Too bad she left before we got our group picture done. I guess we will have to Photoshop her in here:

Thanks for sharing the last Mom’s Night Out of 2008 with us ladies! It was a great year!
Many Blessings for the new year,
Synamon

Its easy and the items come out looking so wonderful! I think I know what we will be giving for gifts at Christmas!
Here is a few pictures of us last time.

So much fun for all ages! So many things to paint, so many colors to chose from!

FIESTA! Well now didn’t the moms of the Winchester Area Homeschoolers have FUN?!
I know I did! We went to Los Toltecos Mexican Restaurant off of Route 50 in Winchester, Virginia and had some REAL good, REAL Mexican food. Muy Delicioso!
As usual, us moms got to eat and talk about anything and everything without interruption. Some of us talked about homeschooling and some of us… well, I am sure they had fun talking about whatever they were talking about at the LOUD end of the table! *wink wink* (you know who you are). But the GREAT thing about mom’s night out, is that we can have conversations with other ADULTS! WHOO WHO! No kids interrupting and climbing all over us. Although… if you don’t answer your cell phone, or happen to “accidentally” let it fall off in the car, they WILL come looking for you. Right Amy?! That had to have been the absolute funniest moment of the whole evening!
As we left the restaurant, some of us braved the chilly air and stood outside continuing to gab until the phone calls rolled in asking when the mommies were coming home to tuck in the kids who were still waiting up. I look at it this way, it’s OK that they are waiting up for us NOW because we will be waiting up for them before too long!
Here is a picture of us Feisty Moms who came out last night.

I am telling you, if you haven’t joined us for a Mom’s Night Out, you are missing out!
Till next time,
Synamon
