Wow! Another year has come and gone. This makes our 3rd and a half year homeschooling. It just gets easier with time. We usually wrap up a week before the regular schools let out, but its totally up to you.

For some, this may have been your first year and you are sure how it is supposed to “end”. Well, it depends on how you are homeschooling.

Are you using an “online homeschool”? Then it should have tests or an envaluation built in. Be sure to check with the administrator.

Are you using a packaged curriculum? It should have tests and evaluations included as well. It may depend if they are parent given or you may have to submit them to the testing representative for that curriculum.

Are you lapbooking or keeping a portfolio? Make sure to set up your appointment with your evaluator early so you can get it over and done with!

Are you one of the ones who needs to submit a standardized test (California Achievement Test, Stanford 9, Iowa Test, etc)? Make sure you have ordered it (www.setontesting.com for CAT)  or you have scheduled to take your child to the nearest homeschool testing site available to you.

One nice way to “end the ending” is to throw a party or do something special with your kids. You can invite family and friends over to celebrate your accomplishments!

One thing is for sure; with homeschooling, learning never ends so dont be surprised if you catch yourself still trekking to the library a few times over the summer, or your child is still using the calculator to add up the items in your grocery cart!
